“If you believe the Elliott Smith legend, there are hundreds of unreleased songs and outtakes recorded by the late singer-songwriter collecting cobwebs somewhere. “Grand Mal”— quite possibly recorded during the sessions for XO (which had the working title of Grand Mal)— was one of those hidden tracks.
