From my camping trip this weekend.
We went up to Little Pond campground in the Catskills. It rained the whole first night - luckily the tent was a good 85% or so waterproof. The next day we set off hiking, and in an effort not to repel back down the slippery mud covered rocks we climbed up, we continued walking until we came out the other side of the woods/hill/mountain/rocky death trap…problem was the campground was 3.5 miles in the other direction.
Fate sent us a pickup truck and the merciful driver took us half of the way around said hill/mountain/rocky death trap. We walked the last 3 miles and collapsed in our muddy filth. Dinner tasted really good that night.
It was actually a really fun trip, despite the momentary loss of direction. Thanks go to my awesome roomate Liz for putting it all together.
