Temple of Antoninus and Faustina #2 (#1 here) - Roman Forum, Italy.
This structure(s) blew me away. The manner in which two different groups of people claimed the temple as their own - each from different time periods, and each with contrasting styles - is striking. It’s the ancient equivilent of the glass additions we see on pre-war era buildings here in New York (perhaps it’s just a bit more impressive…)
I especially love how the front door now appears almost a third of the way up the front of the building…
